The Beginning

Charlene's Pet Sitting Service was founded in 1989 by Charlene Townsend, who has over 34 years of experience in the pet care industry. She takes her responsibility as the pet service center owner seriously. She strives to continually add new services and provide First Class Pet Care to each and every client. Hiring reliable, experienced sitters is job one.

At Charlene's Pet Sitting Service, we offer the following activities for your pets, taking care of pets as if they were our own:

Doggie Day Care Staff

Charlene Townsend
Charlene is a canine socialization specialist and head bottle washer at Charlene's Pet Sitting Service. Charlene started her professional life with animals at the age of sixteen working in a pet store cleaning cages. Charlene has worked as a vet technician at various animal hospitals on the east coast, the Garden State Humane Society as an animal control officer, in various horse barns as stable help, and camp counselor.

Charlene and her staff have collectively owned reptiles, birds, exotics such as raccoon and guinea hens, and every kind of small pet. Charlene continued her education in canine behavior and management at Kutztown University. Our staff is comfortable with all types of pets.

The energetic staff at Doggie Day Care has many years of canine socialization experience. Our pet sitters in your home include veterinarian technicians, veterinary assistants, stay at home moms, retired teachers and senior adults who enjoy a fulfilling, low stress, fun job caring for pets. Daily dog walking keeps them in good share for a healthy, happy retirement. It’s a perfect match for our customers knowing their pets and homes are in reliable, mature hands.

Simon SaysAlot
Simon is our resident kitty cat. Simon is a Siamese mix who definitely earns his keep. The dogs love Simon and they treat him like one of their own kind. Simon can be seen hanging out with our “Kitchen Kids” crowd on a daily basis. He will also lend a hand in Puppy Kindergarten to help socialize the young ones on proper kitty and puppy etiquette.
